Spotlight: Leslie Jones

A “dyed-in-the-wool internet geek,” Leslie Jones looked at black feminism and social media in her sociology doctoral dissertation in the School of Arts and Sciences. “Black female influencers on Twitter cannot readily point to letters after their name or a university affiliation to give their arguments weight,” said Jones. “They have legitimization through their own experiences.”
