Female Leadership Across Healthcare and Biomedical Sciences
Penn Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (PGWISE)
Migrant Worker Education Program Summer Science Carnival: PGWISE hosted our annual science education carnival for 200 students from pre-school to high school. Students were taken through a series of hands-on demos to illustrate the principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and renewable energy. At the end of the day, all the students got to take home their own slime and coloring books!
Lagers with the Ladies: PGWISE collaborated with the Chemical Heritage Foundation to host a special edition of Science on Tap. Two female scientists from Penn (Julia Kahn and Dr. Montserrat Anguera), as well as a local female brewmaster (Meredith Rebar), presented their work to a public audience at National Mechanics in Old City. Read more here.
Lunch with Astronaut Dr. Kate Rubins: Dr. Kate Rubins attended a lunch for PGWISE members to discuss her experiences training for space travel and life on board the international space station.
