Join SCRWP in volunteering & fundraising for Books Through Bars! BTB sends free books to people incarcerated in PA and nearby states. Books have been shown to make a huge difference in the life of inmates, especially when they try to readjust to society after prison.

Join us for BGAPSA and Fontaine's 2017 Holiday Party and Fundraiser. To end the semester right, we will be gathering gifts for a cause in Philadelphia that affects black communities. This year, we are collecting money and in-kind items which will be given to Women Against Abuse, a Philadelphia domestic violence organization. 56% of WAA's clients are African-American.

As the holidays approach, SCRWP is hosting a Dinner & Discussion on "How to Respond to Racism from Family". We'll start with two groups for people of color and white folks to discuss separately the barriers to addressing race-related issues with family and overcoming complicity, then we'll unite in one group to discuss the issues all together and debrief on conversational dynamics in multi-racial spaces.
